Hi, I'm Gregg
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I live and work in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. I quit golf after a bad round this spring - and don't miss it a bit. Besides, it has given me more time to finish the landscaping in my back yard, so I think this may be a real victory for my wife. We have four kids - one married, two in college and one at home. My parents raised me in the Mormon church, but I still found that I had to learn and earn my own personal witness of the truth. I received that witness through studying the scriptures, praying, and listening for personal revelation from my Heavenly Father. I heard and felt the whisperings of the Holy Ghost tell me that I had found truth, and I am able to say, "I know that my Redeemer lives".
Why I am a Mormon
Through my Mormon faith I have found true peace, lasting happiness, and built a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I love the church focus on families and kids. I am a better husband and father because I am a Mormon.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
My maternal grandfather joined the church in Germany in the early 1900's. He was befriended by missionaries who taught him the true gospel of Jesus Christ and baptized him with proper priesthood authority. That legacy was handed down to my mother, and then to me. I had the opportunity to serve a full-time mission from 1981-1983 in Munich Germany - returning , as it were to my grandfather's homeland. I served because I felt a debt to my Heavenly Father for the rich blessings that have come to my through my membership in the Mormon church. My goal was to share that happiness with others. I guess my feelings are best summed up in a song which includes the verse, "because I have been given much, I too must give..."
How I live my faith
Christ served others and I try to emulate his example of service. I am actively involved in local church leadership, class teaching, and making personal visits to friends within the church. I find that my testimony of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior increases as I put my faith into action through service.
