Travis Nuttall: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Travis Nuttall

I grew up in a suburb of Sacramento, CA, went to college in Idaho and Utah, got married and moved to Phoenix.

About Me

I've been married now for almost 17 yrs. My wife and I have 4 children and we live in Arizona. I work for a water/wastewater utility company and am Engineering Project Manager. I love sports and hanging out with my family. I especially enjoy date nights with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

Technically I'm a Mormon because my parents were/are Mormon when I was born. I was raised going to church with them pretty much every Sunday.

Eventually, though, I had to decide that belonging to this church, continuing to serve within it, and attend meetings every Sunday was worth it for me. Or in other words I needed to gain an understanding for myself and not lean on that of my parents.

This point in my life came while I was in the Mission Training Center in Provo, UT, being trained to serve a mission in Spain. I had come to the end of reading the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, for the first time. Near the end of the book, one of the Prophets of old challenges all those who read this book to pray about whether it is true. I took the challenge, got down on my knees, and in fervent prayer asked my Heavenly Father whether the book was true. The feelings in my heart that I had after that prayer gave me no doubt that the book was true. At that point if I knew the book was true, the man who claimed to have translated the book from the golden plates had to be telling the truth. If that man, Joseph Smith, was telling the truth about the origin of the book, then he was a Prophet of God. If he was a true Prophet of God, then the church he established, the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints, is the only true church on this earth.

Personal Stories

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

I share the gospel with my friends because I want to share the happiness I enjoy by living the gospel, with them. I share the gospel with my friends mostly by the way I live my life. My friends know I'm Mormon and certain things will come up in my daily life that occasionally triggers a question from them.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as the executive secretary to the Bishop. I schedule his appointments with the members. I also teach once a month to some of the adult men of the church.
