About Me

I love being active and outdoors. I'm crazy about new crafts and projects and have many of them on my "to-do" list. I'm in love with my husband, Jake and our two sons Cooper and Jack and especially our new baby girl, Adele. We cherish every minute we have together as my husband works a full-time job and runs his own business and I work at the local hospital in the ER. I have a degree in Health Science and enjoy playing volleyball and having a girls night every once in a while!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but continue to live it because it just makes perfect sense to me. I am very blessed and credit everything I have to the Lord. The gospel is my foundation, the ultimate source of my happiness and joy and I find it easy to live and love it.

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

When I read a really good book or find a great recipe, I want to share that with people! It's the same with the gospel. Why wouldn't I want to share something that I think is so amazing? The best way I can share it is by just talking about it to my friends and not being shy about using "churchy" terms. And if questions are asked, I do my best to answer them.

How I live my faith

This faith is founded on families. I live it by trying to be a loving and nurturing mother and wife. I love to serve others through friendship and kindness.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

I like to think of a stake like a school district. Depending on where you live determines which school or ward you are in.

For purposes of organization, a Ward or Branch is the group you meet with for church, based on where you live. They vary in size, branches are slightly smaller than wards, and wards vary in the various 100's of members. Wards and branches are then organized into stakes, containing several wards/branches.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

I grew up in California and was in the middle of the same-sex marriage debate. The Church believes that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that children have the right to be brought into the world with a mother and father who love and honor each other and their marital vows. I agree with this doctrine, so I, along with others of my faith, supported Prop. 8 in 2009. Any time I spoke with someone, I explained that we all, regardless of our side on this issue, are motivated by love. Love of mankind, of God, of society, etc. So much of the debate turned to hatred, but it's important to remember that love is always our initial motivation. I know people, good friends, who live a homosexual lifestyle. They've shown love to me, and I love them, but I believe their lifestyles are contrary to the will of God. That doesn't mean that I can prevent them from doing what I think is wrong, but their liberty does not translate into license. Liberty in America has never been about license to do whatever we choose. When we, as a people, believe something is wrong, it is our democratic right to enact laws against such things. Likewise, if we believe something is divinely inspired, like the institution of marriage between a man and a woman, it is not only our right but our duty to stand up for it. If we don't, I'm afraid that America will lose the protective hand of God that has embraced us for so many years.
