i am married to an incredible man and i'm a mother of two beautiful twin boys. i am going back to school to major in history and get my teaching certificate so that i can teach high school. i am the youngest of three girls and i love my family more than anything in this world!

all of the happiness i can account for traces back to the fact that i believe in Jesus Christ and his teachings.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

i have had my prayers answered in many ways. it might be a feeling i have or the answer may come through a friend or family member. when it comes to making a big decision i always tell my Heavenly Father that i have made a choice and i am going to start progressing towards it and if it is the wrong choice then please put something in my path that will make it known to me. prayer is so powerful.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

i went on a mission to share this wonderful message. that Jesus Christ's original church has been restored to the earth and that it will give you more joy and happiness then you will ever know.

How I live my faith

i am just myself. i live my life by the teachings of the gospel and hopefully touch other peoples lives.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

no we are not. it is an opportunity that is given to us to share the gospel all over the world, but there are so many of us that love and know it to be true that we jump at the chance to serve. it was the best decision i ever made! i owe so much to serving my mission.

No. Every worthy young man is expected to serve a mission, though there is no punishment for not doing so. Also, not every young man is physically or mentally capable, so there are circumstances where a young man may be excused from service. Young women may also serve missions, but are not expected to do so.

Serving a mission means a full-time commitment, leaving family and friends to preach the gospel in a place assigned by the Church.

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Mormons practiced polygamy because the Lord commanded some of them to do so, for purposes known to the Lord. At the time, there were no national laws prohibiting polygamy. When the Supreme Court ruled that later anti-polygamy laws were constitutional, the Lord directed Pres. Woodruff to issue the Manifesto, and the practice ended in the Church.
