Hi, I'm Jennifer Scott

I grew up in Sandy UT. When I was 28 I was diagnosed with a terminal illness called Pulmonary Hypertension. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hello I am now 30 years old. I have lived almost 2 years with the knowledge of a terminal illness called Pulmonary Hypertension. I currently am on oxygen. I am not able to work and am on disability. I like to try to help others (especially children) with my disease. I love children and hope to one day have some of my own though having this disease I know its not likely. My dream is to become a computer programer so I can create programs that are accessible to people of varying disabilities.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born with parents that are members. Through my trials I have found help and strength from the Lord. I was baptised at age 8, but felt I went through a full conversion at age 14. I've had numerous trials that have helped my testimony of the church including but not only Death of a mother and a terminal disease.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I help share my beliefs through music. I'm not that great but still take the opportunity to sing in choirs and play the piano or organ in church.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

In a lot of cases with my disease I've felt really down and depressed. The Holy Ghost has given comfort at times of trial. Its also helped me through the trials of losing a mom at a young age.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

Imagine yourself finding the most delicious fruit. You want so badly to share it with others. Thats like gaining a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You love it, it "tastes" good. It feels good. Its AMAZING. We go on missions to go out and help others "taste" of this delicious "fruit."

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

I know the Joseph Smith is the one that restored this church on the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that this church is true. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he died for us that we might again live with Him. He wants us to return to Him. He loves us so much. I know that the Lord speaks through Prophets. I know that Pres Thomas S Monson is the current prophet and president of the church today and that God speaks through him. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to serve where possible though I am limited. I serve as Relief Society women's class Chorister in my ward . I also do visiting teaching. I enjoy my callings and try to fulfill them to the fullest extent. I try to be an example to others and a peacemaker though I know there are a LOT of things that I need work on.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We help many people. There are places like the Humanitarian Center in SLC UT that sends out stuff to many countries and inside the US. For longer help of feeding and clothing those in need. It is asked that they in return give service to the church in the various places.

Absolutely not! While we definitely serve the members of our own church, we believe that ALL men and women on this earth are sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. Therefore, we are all one in purpose. Mormons serve people throughout the world on a local/personal level as well as on a global level. Members of our church are able to donate money, which is distributed throughout the world to people and nations in need, especially in times of trouble and disaster. It is also common for members of the church to organize activities where materials for humanitarian aid are gathered and distributed.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes we do! Heavenly Father is the same yesterday today and forever! Today, God has called a prophet to lead and guide us. His name is Thomas S. Monson. He receives revelation for the issues in our day. We can listen to Him and know what our Heavenly Father wants us to do. I know as you follow God's chosen messengers that we can enjoy happiness, safety, and be led back to Him.
