David: Mormon.

Hi, I'm David

I am a husband and father, an MBA/CPA, living in SoCal. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Idaho. My father owned a soccer specialty store, so I spent a lot of time working or playing soccer. I attended college and graduated with a degree in Spanish and Economics. I served a mission for 2 years in Venezuela. I earned my MBA and I am a licensed CPA in California. I work in finance and currently live in California.

I was married in 2002 and have two sons.

Why I am a Mormon

I enjoy learning and reading. I find that the Mormon doctrine answers my questions about the purpose of life- the 3 big questions. Where did I come from, why am I here, and where do I go after I die.
The teachings connect with me empirically and theoretically. I am continually learning and gaining insights into Mormon doctrine.

Personal Stories

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

I think that when it comes to making decisions, there are some that are normal, some that are natural and some that are right.

Sometimes they coincide and sometimes they don't when they don't- making the right choices can be difficult. When we make the right decisions it helps build character and makes us better people, which is a main purpose of life. As we continue to make the right decisions we become stronger and it becomes easier each time.

How I live my faith

In a letter to the Romans Paul talks about how a church is like a body and we all have different roles. In chapter 12, verse 15, he states: "Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep."

I think that this means that in a church we should know each other and be a support system. Life can bring a lot of great experiences and a lot of pain. Members of a congregation can be there as close friends to help us celebrate our triumphs and console us in our trials.
I try to live my faith by being available for other members, as Paul invites.
