About Me

Born in Chicago, IL as the fourth of six children. Grew up in Park City, UT. I'm an avid skier, runnner, and outdoor enthusiast.

Why I am a Mormon

For several reasons. However, given this short space I will say because it answers all the questions of the soul. Why are we here on earth? Where did we come from? Where do we go when we die? It is the same organization that Christ Himself organized when He was on the earth. It has been restored today for all to understand and enjoy.

How has the Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

The Book of Mormon contains clear and simple truths that, in addition to the Bible, clarify the purpose of our life here on earth. The Book of Mormon has completely changed my life and it will change yours as you read it.

How I live my faith

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints isn't just something that I do on Sundays. Everyday I set aside time to read the scriptures, pray, and help my friends or neighbors. Striving to live like Jesus Christ and be a better person requires constant effort. As a church responsibility, which we all perform as a service, I coordinate with the missionaries to reach out to those who are interested in learning more about the church and making them feel welcome.

Absolutely. "Mormon" is simply a nick-name. The name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Yes. We believe Jesus Christ is our Savior and we follow His teachings. We believe He is essential for salvation.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

This question is easily answered in the words of one of the children's songs "I know my [Heavenly] Father lives, and loves me too". We believe in a loving God, who knows us each individually. Another way I know that God loves me because he has heard and answered my prayers many times. Some people think that God is angry, but I do not believe that is so. Matthew 7:11 reads, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to those that ask him?" I think that just explains it all- as parents we want the best for our children. God, our Heavenly parent, wants the best for us, too. As parents, we recognize that giving our children everything they ask for isn't necessarily what's best for them. God does this for us also.
