Kristy Rohrer: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Kristy Rohrer

I taught Kindergarten, I'm a new Mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated in Elementary Education at BYU-Idaho in 2008 and taught kindergarten the following year. I am taking a break from teaching to stay at home with our son. I enjoying teaching, walking, cooking and spending time with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives meaning to my life. I know that I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father sent to this Earth to learn and grow. Living by the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings happiness to my life. I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for me. I know that through Christ's atonement I can return to my Heavenly Father someday and be with my family forever.

Personal Stories

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

Church missions are when young men and young women and couples dedicate their lives for a time to serve God. They serve by giving service to those in need and sharing information about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with others.

Not only do missions bless the lives of the people serving, but it blesses the lives of the missionary. My Husband served a mission in North Carolina. His mission helped him to develop leadership skills and communication. The skills have helped him in his career as well as in our relationship.

My husband currently has been asked to help the missionaries in our area. He helps them to find rides and with any other needs they might have. Often we will have them over for dinner. When they are in our home they bring a special spirit. They encourage us to be better people.

I have not served a mission, but I hope to serve one someday with my husband. I have seen missions bless the lives of many people.

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

Every Monday night we have Family Night a night that we have dedicated to strengthening our family and strengthening our testimonies of Jesus Christ. We will have a short lesson that my Husband or I will prepare and then we will spend time as a family. This has helped us to come closer and I feel it will show our son how important family is as he grows older.

We also have daily scripture study and prayer together. We have noticed that as we pray and read our scriptures together daily that our home feels different. We have feel the spirit and our conversations and actions are more aligned with God's will.

How I live my faith

I am a children's music choirster at church. I teach the children, ages 1 1/2 to 11 years old, at church songs that help them to learn more about Jesus Christ and God.
