Jon : Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jon

I'm a Mormon. I love this world and its people. I love my Savior.

About Me

I'm very happy to share my experiences in "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. I'm a convert to the church. I was not a member of any faith before that. My life has been interwoven with the church ever since I was baptized in 1965. My wife and I have been home from a mission at Willies Sixth Crossing, Wyoming. My faith in my Savior has been magnified every since. I love the fact that our faith has given me purpose in life and goals that I can strive to succeed in. It provides me with faith, hope and a love for people which I never had before. It gives me the knowledge that I am here for a special reason that I am here to learn obediance and that I can return to my Heavenly Father one day to be with my family for all eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a retired commercial photographer. I worked at that vocation for twenty-five years. Later I ran a framing gallery and enjoyed custom framing and matting. I'm also a muscian and have played the Accordian for some sixty-three years. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with the talents that I have. I am a mormon because my faith allows me to pursue the arts. I know that it pleases my Heavenly Father that I take my life seriously and I love the Gospel.

Personal Stories

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

I know that my family and I have been blessed through faithfully attending our meetings each Sunday. We have sufficient for our needs. Our house is modest but comfortable. We love one another and that too is a blessing. We try to keep our home spiritually sound, through prayer and fasting, by reading the scriptures daily and apply them in our lives. We pray that all that enter into our home may feel welcome because of the blesssing of the holy spirit that is here. We have the blessing of good health. Because we don't smoke or drink anything containing alcohol, we are free from those addictions. We believe that our bodies are a Temple of God and that we must live in a way that we can invite the Holy Spirit to reside within us and feel comfortable there. These blessings come one step at a time and only after much effort on our part. We follow the teachings of the Lord and that alone is a blessing.

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

I know, through the witness of the Holy Ghost that being baptized into the Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, was the greatest act that I ever did on this earth. It opened the doorway not only to my salvation but for all of my family and extended family or ancestors. I am a pioneer. I strive to lead the way that others may follow. I know that there are those out there, struggling on the distant plains of this world that need to be rescued. They are seeking that path which can leed them to salvation and joy in their life. I know that this is the only true Church on the face of this earth. I believe this Church is led by a Prophet of God today. As long as we go forward with faith we will win this great battle between good and evil. I know that we are in this world, but not of it. I'm thankful for the little bit of knowledge that I have, and for the blessing of faith in Jesus Christ. I know that this is His Church, that He is our Savior, that He knows us personally and that he strives with us that we may be able to return to Him someday. This is my testimony, in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

My wife and I study the scriptures each morning after morning prayer. I am involved in teaching a group once a month out of our lesson manual. I have directed the music in the past. My wife and I served a full time mission in Wyoming. We lead the youth on handcart treks. We told the Willies story on a regular basis in the visitors center at the Willies sixth crossing. We were also camp hosts at Rock Creek Hollow where thirteen members of the Church were buried after crossing the plains with hand-carts because of a early winter storm. I'm also active in member location services and geneology.
