About Me

I am a mom of two boys, a wife and I own my own Graphic Design firm. I love art, design, typography and I love what I do. I especially love mid-century art and design. You can see a strong influence from that in a lot of my work.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born into the church. My parents were Mormon and my Grandparents, all the way back to the beginning of the church. I stay a Mormon because I love the positive influence it has on my life. I love the tools it gives me to help raise kids in this world. I love knowing that I can be with my family for ever.

Personal Stories

Think about your everyday activities. What are things you act upon each day where you cannot see the end results? How does faith move you to action?

I have many wonderful blessings in my life, yet for some reason one of the challenges I face is depression. I have struggled with depression for 8 years and it is something that has made me have to rely strongly on my faith daily. I have learned that when I am in one of my "down" cycles, that there is an end to it. If I rely on my Heavenly Father and go to him in prayer I CAN get through each minute, each hour and each day. On those days, it is sometimes faith alone that keeps me going. For I cannot do it myself. When I am on the other side and through it, I am able to look back and see that even though I felt surrounded by darkness, there was still the light and comfort from Heavenly Father that helped me make it once more.

I do sometimes live in dread of "is this the start of another depression? Can I stop it? Can I overcome it this time?" But I also know that He will be there for me and I won't have to do it on my own.

How I live my faith

I have worked in many aspects of the church. I have had the opportunity to work with the teenage girls, the women, and the primary children. I have taught in Sunday School, and acted as a local Missionary. In each roll I have had the opportunity to serve and get to know people better then I ever expected. Lasting friendships have been built, and my own faith increased.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Why don't men have babies? I believe that each of us has a role to play on this earth. I believe that while men hold the priesthood, women are mothers. Unfortunately in this society people see that as a negative or something not as important. But motherhood is as much a sacred role as priesthood. One is not better than the other. They are two halves of a puzzle that fit together to create a whole. Mormon women hold many leadership roles and have a powerful influence within the church community as well as living community.

As a primary president in my ward, I share in the direction and leadership of our ward. I don't feel secondary in any way. Whether you have the priesthood or not, you are still responsible to listen to the direction of the Savior. The priesthood is a tool and power that is the same power of the Savior. It allows the human authority to do work on earth, particularly perform ordinances, and bless others. As if the Savior was here in person during His ministry accounted for in the New Testament. I would use an analogy to compare the priesthood as a car. A car is an amazing tool allowing you to get you from here to there. I don't mind my husband driving and I can offer some navigation or work the radio, as long as we and our children get there.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I believe that Mothers have the power to combat the evils of our day, one child, one bedtime story, and one encouraging conversation at a time. When we teach our children about their worth as children of God, they will find confidence in themselves, and they will be armed with the power to make correct choices and the wisdom to recognize that following Jesus Christ is the path to true happiness.
