Chaela: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Chaela

I'm 24, a music elitist, a daydreamer, and a Mormon. And I totally dig it.

About Me

I love concerts, typography-based design, talk radio, ping pong, cooking, power tools, and wearing really high heels.

I dream to be a way-awesome Mom to a bunch of kids, a stellar wife, a life-changing teacher and a really hip old lady.

I dream to make the ordinary extraordinary and to exalt the every day.

I'm trying to be like Jesus.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in God.

I believe that God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

I believe that He is a God of miracles.

Mostly, I believe with my whole self that God is Love (1John 4:8).

Because I know these essential truths, I know that God has not forgotten about us. I know that miracles happen today. I know that God and Jesus appeared to Joseph Smith and called him to be a prophet. This was a miracle. The prophet Moses parted the Red Sea, the prophet Noah built an ark. These are miracles. The only difference between Moses, Noah and Joseph Smith is time.

What is time but man's grasp at control, anyway? God transcends time. Remember, He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

God loves me. I am important. God loves you. You are important. He has provided a way for us to know this and so much more. Will you listen? Are you ready?

Personal Stories

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

Pray together and play together. This is a winning combination.

Mormons do this great thing called 'Family Home Evening.' One night a week we get the entire family together. We turn off cell phones and ipods and we talk about Jesus Christ, we read from the scriptures, we pray and then we play together. Be it soccer in the front yard, speed scrabble or Indian Leg Wrestling (to this day I've never beaten my brother).

Pray together. Play together.

These things work.

Try Family Home Evening. It is the best investment you can make in your children's and your family's future.

I can't wait to do it with all of my awesome, cool, hip kids one day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. Remembering to be a little softer, a little gentler, a little more aware of others and a little less aware of myself. I try to be like Jesus. This is the key.
