Hi, I'm Jay
I'm a Mormon that loves to watch sports and read great business books.
About Me
I'm a sports fan to the highest degree. So much so that I majored in journalism and was a sportscaster for about 8 years. I now work for a major advertising firm. I'm a loving husband and father of three beautiful little girls. I now enjoy sports with them as much as I can. My hobbies are sports card collecting, tennis and golf.
Why I am a Mormon
I became a member of the church after meeting my wife. She introduced me to the church but my conversion was not an easy one at first. About a month or so after meeting my wife I was in a car accident that should have killed me instantly. The person who hit me was driving under the influence and with a suspended license. Prior to me being exposed to the church I would have been selfish and wanted immediate restitution for the accident. Because I had been meeting with the missionaries I felt a sort of sorrow for the other party involved in the accident. I prayed repeatedly for Heavenly Father to forgive her and let her learn from the experience. He was teaching me how to be unselfish. A few weeks later I received a letter from the young lady informing me that she would be making changes in her life and she wanted to pay for my car damages. Heavenly Father had touched her heart and it prompted my baptism.
Personal Stories
How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?
Harmony in our home comes with balance in our lives. Many of us get caught up in worldly things that don't bring harmony into the home. Take the time to enjoy the things that will truly bring everlasting memories.
How I live my faith
I am a Sunday School teacher with our ward. I truly enjoy the wonderful things that I learn from preparing for these lessons by reading the Scriptures and The Book of Mormon. My students are 17 and 18 year olds.
