Jenna: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jenna

I'm a writer. I'm a musician. I love to make my home a beautiful place. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my sweetheart since December 2005. In April 2009, I graduated with a Communications degree, emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. As part of my education, I completed an internship at a local news station. Now, I'm a stay-at-home mom to my beautiful daughter and darling son. I am a freelance writer and blogger on the side. I love music and I'm an avid singer and pianist. I enjoy creating beauty in my home and enriching my children's lives with meaningful experiences. My motto -- Find where you fit and embrace your place.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the Mormon Church, I read the Book of Mormon in its entirety for the first time when I was 14 years old. I put Moroni's promise (Moroni 10: 3-5) to the test, prayed about its truthfulness and couldn't deny what I felt. I knew it was true!

I continue to practice my faith because the gospel of Jesus Christ is simple and beautiful, and it gives my life meaning. When I follow my faith, I feel God's love most abundantly in my life. It makes me happy. Through the gospel, I know who I am -- a child of God.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

I'll be the first to admit that it's not always easy to wake up early for Church. It's especially difficult to get to the meeting when you're trying to wrangle two small children! However, the feeling I get when I attend church services makes it entirely worthwhile. From the moment I walk through those chapel doors, I am elated. I am greeted by happy faces and warm handshakes. The organist plays beautiful, worshipful music to maintain a reverent atmosphere. We sing hymns of praise, united by our testimonies of the Gospel. We renew our sacred baptismal covenants by taking the Sacrament. The speakers teach the words of latter-day prophets and testify purely of God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. As a young mother, I often find it hard to pay attention to the sermons since I am usually taking care of my children. But just being at church is edifying in and of itself. I know God blesses me for my obedience and willingness to worship Him. When I return home, I feel happy, relaxed and ready for the new week. Church recharges my batteries and revitalizes my testimony. It gives me a chance to serve my brothers and sisters in the Gospel.

How I live my faith

In my congregation, I lead the music for the children's services in Primary. I love providing the music for the children. The songs are so simple but contain great truths. And there isn't a sound more beautiful than innocent children testifying of Jesus Christ through song. Music is my favorite way to teach and learn the gospel of Jesus Christ.
