About Me

I am married to a very charismatic man. I am a stepmother to a great little girl who we would love to see more of. I enjoy my pets, reading and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church, I went regularly as a child and teenager. Then I stopped going to church for a few years which is what we call "inactive". I realized that the path I was on wasn't leading me to a very happy life. I gradually started attending my church meetings again, praying and reading the scriptures. This has truly become my source of tranquility. The things I learn each week help me to be a better person and make better choices. I can truly feel my Savior's love as I learn and study more about him.

What is hope and what do you hope for?

One of my favorite quotes is "Hope is faith holding its hand out in the dark." -George Iles. Sometimes you just have to reach out and grab that hand, having the faith to believe that things will be better. Life doesn't always go as planned, without hope and faith we would lead miserable lives. I am sad for those without either.

How I live my faith

I was asked to be the 2nd Counselor in our childrens program. This has been very rewarding for me. I think I am learning as much as the children I am teaching.

What is being a Mormon like?

I think of it as my life style not just my religion. The church is set up to support you and nurture your spiritual growth. That growth comes from involvement with church activities and supporting others. We look out for each other, not just physically but spiritually as well.

The shortest answer that I could give is that it's AWESOME.
But really, it's great! The standards of the Church help me live and love a more clean life, and help me enjoy what I do every day.
Sometimes it's hard, but I try to think about WHY I do it all. It's like working out- I don't always enjoy it, but I keep thinking about the finish line and why I'm working out.
Like Captain Moroni wrote on the ensign banner he called the "Title of Liberty" to rally the country to understand why they were doing what they were:
"In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children."
Being a Mormon makes me love life more. And I sure live a lot of it!

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God. His birth, life, death, and resurrection fulfilled the many prophecies contained in the scriptures concerning the coming of a Savior. He was the Creator, He is our Savior, and He will be our Judge (see Isaiah 9:6, 53:3-7; Psalms 22:16-18).

Under the direction of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ created the earth (John 1:10; Hebrews 1:2).

When Jesus lived on the earth (approximately 2,000 years ago), He led a perfect life. He taught by word and example how people should live in love of God and others.

Through His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and by giving His life on the cross—that is, by performing the Atonement —Jesus Christ saves us from our sins (1 Peter 2:21) as we follow Him. Because of the Atonement, you can be forgiven of your sins when you sincerely repent (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 26:30).

Through His Resurrection, Jesus Christ saved us from death. Because He overcame death, we will all be given the gift of resurrection, that is to say our spirits will be eternally re-united with our bodies (Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:22). When life on this earth is over, Jesus Christ will be the final Judge (Acts 17:31; John 5:21-22; Acts 10:42).
