Hi, I'm Lynn
I love Kayaking, my kids, Hiking, and being a Mormon
About Me
I am a Oracle Database Administrator. I worked in the IT area for more than 14 years. I enjoy kayaking and the outdoors. I have fun coaching 11 & 12 year olds in soccer, and trying to keep up with Boy Scouts on long hikes.
Why I am a Mormon
I was blessed to be raised in the Faith by my parents. I continue in it because I know God loves me, and will give me the strength to become more like him. I have six kids. They need the same blessings my parents gave me. It is my belief that all of the children of Adam deserve two loving parents who will bring them up in the light of Christ. I find that when I work hard to follow the commandments of God, I am much happier. I see in myself and all those around me unhappiness when Gods council is not followed. I must admit that sometimes it is not easy. The Lord requires a lot of us to be happy. Self discipline, care and support of one’s family, service in church, balance in life. I have been on this earth a little over 4 decades, not very long when compared to eternity, but long enough to know that happiness and joy come from following Christ and his prophets, including the living prophets here on earth today.
Personal Stories
How does making right choices help us make more right choices?
When we make a right choice, the Lord is please with us. He will bless us. We can have the Holy Ghost to comfort us and to teach us. As we are taught by the Holy Ghost, he will help us to make more right choices. Thus one choice can lead to a cascade of right choices and happiness.
How I live my faith
I currently serve as a secretary for a Bishop in My Ward (local congregation). It is a simple task; I simply schedule appointments for local church members to meet with the Bishop as needed. I have enjoyed all of my jobs in the church, but I must admit the most fun ones are working with 2 and 3 year olds. Christ said we needed to become like a little child, spending time with them you see why. I also try to go on every Boy Scout outing with my boys that I can. While teenagers are not always as much fun as 2 and 3 year olds, they are still fun, and it is great to see boys working their way to manhood.
