How I live my faith

I feel that my religion is the most important thing in my life. Rarely does a minute go by when I am not influenced by my faith. I believe in being a Mormon 7 days a week rather than just on Sunday.
There was a time in my life when I was teaching some of my friends about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The more times I told them I knew this church was true, the more I had to ask myself what that meant to me. I couldn't go on telling people I knew it was true if I wasn't trying to follow its teachings. At that point, I promised myself that I would never ask someone to keep a commandment I wasn't fully committed to keeping. That decision changed the way I looked at everything.
The first change I made was to make daily scripture reading a priority. In doing so, I discovered how amazing the scriptures are. The stories are inspiring and the teachings clear. One goal I set was to read through the Book of Mormon again. I found the joy that comes through reading this amazing book. As a good friend and mentor once told me, "the Book of Mormon is either true and the most important book ever written, or it is false and is the best novel ever written."
I reevaluated other aspects of my life and found that with a little effort I could gain much more from my experiences in church services. My prayers became more heartfelt and my relationship with God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ became deeper. My love for my fellow man increased. I felt like shouting to the world of the joy that I had discovered.
I am by no means perfect. But I have found that by trying to live the teachings of my religion I have become much happier than I could become by any other means possible.
