Brittney: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Brittney

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and wife and LOVE staying at home. My chicklets are my WHOLE world, I was born to be a mother and LOVE it! I have never found more joy in anything else. I graduated with my BS in Communications with a Minor in Interior Design from BYU-Idaho in 2007 just before I had my first child. I LOVE everything beautiful-from the sunsets to Christmas trees. My husband is currently a Dental School student, and we are loving and enjoying this time in our lives. Being poor students does NOT mean its a miserable time. I do NOT like to be cold, but have recently decided that I am not a huge fan of humidity either! I do however LOVE to be around family and friends and often times find that they are one in the same.

Why I am a Mormon

Nothing has ever felt so right as when I am living the principles taught by the gospel. I have lived on both sides, and I would NEVER go back. The PEACE that I have in knowing that my Heavenly Father loves me and has provided a way for me to return to Him, its priceless. To feel His love and know His plan, and know that I can be with my family FOREVER, I could NEVER walk away from that. I can't even begin to describe the difference I feel in being an ACTIVE member of the gospel and not. It is night and day. I am honestly and truly a VERY happy person, and I attribute that to the gospel. Not to say that I don't have bad days. . .oh I do, like we all do. But each night when I pray to my Heavenly Father, I receive peace and KNOW that I am in His watchful care. He will not leave me, and I try to live my life so that He can be ever close. I know my Heavenly Father loves me because I feel it. Knowing and feeling that love, I can't describe it in any other way than it feels like "home".

Personal Stories

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

We have been through some HARD things the last year. Well, hard to us anyway. My husband is between under-grad and medical school and much of our life is up in the air right now. On top of that in the last 8 months I have been pregnant twice and lost both of those children. These things have brought me to my knees in prayer more than I can tell you, and each time I pray, and so many times in between I feel my Saviors love for me through the comforting spirit of the Holy Ghost. The pain and the grief that I have felt have been lessened and the stress and unknowing have been lifted as step by step we put one foot in front of the other and move forward and the Lord lights the way one step at a time. We have been blessed to have answers to our questions through prayer and fasting and attending the Lords Temple. He shares His plan for us-our individual little family- through promptings and whisperings from the still small voice that is the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I do many of the things so many other people do. I go to church each week. I pray at least 6 times day between meals, and morning and nightly family and personal prayers. These prayers are where I get SO much of my strength. We do daily scripture study at night as a family. On Monday nights we have a small lesson-I have a toddler, that doesn't always make for easy lessons-and activity. At church I teach the 6 turning 7 year olds in the primary and so I teach a Sunday School lesson and then go to and participate in a singing and sharing time with them. Preparing these lesson's each week helps me stay fresh on the stories from the scriptures. At home my I am CONSTANTLY singing primary songs with my little guy and trying to teach him about his Heavenly Fathers Love for him. I also have sisters from church that I am assigned to go and visit and share a lesson with each month. On top of the visits we try to make sure that if there is any additional needs the sisters need-meals brought in, children to be watched, etc- we try to help in those ways to. I personally pray for promptings from the spirit to help me know when sisters in the ward may need something. Even if its just a card in the mail, or dropping off some pepridge farm cookies with a small note. I find that I tend to do this the most when I am going through a difficult time myself, it helps me to forget my own problems and feel my Saviors love not only for me but for those I am serving.
