Hi, I'm Kathy
I am a wife, mother of 3 and a special education teacher. And I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a wife and the mother of three teenagers. My husband and kids make my life fun and rewarding. I have teaching credentials in both Elementary Education and Special Education, and I currently teach at a school for students with Emotional Disabilities. Though my work can be challenging, I feel it a privilege to have the opportunity to positively influence the lives of my students. I dabble in many different creative pursuits, such as sewing, beaded jewelry, and scrapbooking, but don't have nearly the time I would like to spend on them. I also enjoy geneology work and camping, and love reading.
Why I am a Mormon
The short answer would be that I was raised as a member of the church, but ofcourse there is more to it than that. I was blessed, even as a small child, to know that the things I was being taught were true. The gospel has just always made perfect sense to me, and I have never doubted its truthfulness. Through countless, quiet witnessess of the Spirit its truthfulness has been reaffirmed to me again and again over the years. The gospel brings a peace and joy to my life, even in the most difficult times. I am who I am because of the truths I have been taught, my knowledge that my Heavenly Father and my Savior know and love me, I see their hands in my llife all the time, and my desire to be the person they would have me be.
Personal Stories
How does making right choices help us make more right choices?
When we make right choices we draw nearer to the Spirit and strengthen our relationship with the Savior. Having the Spirit close makes it easier to feel his influence and make more right choices.
How I live my faith
I strive every day to be the type of person the Savior would have me be. I try to keep my eyes and heart open to opportunities to serve those around me.
Currently, I serve within the women's organization at church, as well as as a leader at girl's camp each year. I love being able to work with the women and young women of the church. I learn so much just being around them.
