Hi, I'm Mark
I'm a husband, I'm a father, I'm a computer geek and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a father first, geek second and musician third. I love computer programming, playing guitar, running and cycling.
Why I am a Mormon
I believe that the Lord loves all of his children, regardless of religion, ethnicity, race or anything else. I love the teachings of the New Testament. I believe that God has chosen righteous men to teach his children on earth and that many of these men have kept records. These records can be found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
I guess my faith is founded in my believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that the Bible and the Book of Mormon contain His words. My conversion process took a few years. As I read the Bible, I feel peace. When I pray to God through Christ, I feel love. When I try and live as Jesus did, I feel calm and have a better perspective on life. I know that these feelings come from my Heavenly Father and I have all of these same feelings when I read the Book of Mormon, serve others and attend church each week.
Personal Stories
How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
Knowing about God's plan for me brings me peace. If I think about it during the day, it helps me to make better decisions. It gives me perspective that this life is given to me to prepare to return to my Heavenly Father. It's a test. It's even an open book test! I have scriptures that we can read, a prophet and apostles that teach me and my family and the Holy Spirit to guide us!
How I live my faith
I recently taught an early morning religion class to high school kids. I taught them every morning before school for about 2 years. Each day, we'd study and discuss topics from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. If they learned half as much as they taught me, then I think they did great!
