Chat With a Mormon Online
My passion is loving other people. I have a bachelor's degree in Family Studies and I work as a writer and content strategist for an Internet marketing firm. I volunteer regularly, and I possess a deep love for road trips and small towns. I adore blogging, music, bookstores, thrifting, playing Frisbee, watching sports, eating fudgsicles and quoting ridiculous movies and 1990s sitcoms.
I'm a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ continually changes my heart. The Spirit softens me, gives me joy and teaches me to love others. Because of my religion, I can wake up every morning filled with hope for good things to come.
To me, hope is an assurance that God will keep His promises. It includes having faith that, regardless of my circumstances and what I can or can't see ahead of me, my Heavenly Father has my eternal best interest in mind. It is knowing that nothing can ever go permanently wrong when I am doing my best to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hope is what puts light in my eyes and allows me to feel joy, even when days are long and life doesn't turn out quite the way I planned.
When we are baptized and confirmed members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we are promised that we can always have the Holy Ghost to be with us if we are obedient to God's commandments. As I strive to keep this influence in my life, I find peace when I'm making difficult decisions. I can use all the logic in the world to seek answers, but I always know something is truly right when I feel the peaceful joy of the Holy Ghost wash over me. It burns inside me like a warm fire and I can feel confident as I navigate my life.
I adore singing, and I love expressing my testimony through music. I always feel the Spirit when I sing songs about the Savior, and I cherish opportunities to use my talent to bring others to Christ.
I live my faith by aiming to never do or say anything that I wouldn't do or say if the Savior was standing beside me. I also strive to always openly express how happy I am because I have the Gospel in my life. I pray every morning that I will know who needs my love and service, so that I can be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I try to be a friend to everyone around me.
