Hi, I'm Karan
I'm a Mormon, Military Mom.
About Me
I love music, singing, scrapbooking, photography, movies, reading, drama and I especially love being a Mom! I also like to cook, and I love working with the Young Women at church.
My husband is in the military so we have moved all over including Texas, North Carolina, Idaho, North Dakota and England! I have met many wonderful friends and seen so many beautiful places!
Why I am a Mormon
I was blessed to have been born into a family who were already members of the church. I am grateful for this because I was raised with good moral values and ideas, but also learned to respect others ideas that are different from mine. I did however still have to gain my own testimony and decide if it was what i wanted for myself. That happened when i was 16 and read the Book of Moromn for the first time while in Seminary. I was at an age where i knew i needed to find out for myself, so i read and prayed and studied. When I finished, I followed the challenge in Moroni 10, so i knelt down and prayed to know it was true. As i did, tears came to my eyes and I was filled with the warmth of the Holy spirit, as it testified truth to me. Ever since then, through all my trials, I have relied on my faith alone, and know that i have a Heavenly father who loves me and listens to my prayers. I am grateful for the sacrifice of my Savior Jesus Christ, and that he has made forgiveness possible, and I love him with all my heart!
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
I was honored to serve as a missionary in Hong Kong, where i was able to teach many people about Jesus Christ. In a country where Buddhism and ancestor worship are predominant, I knew this was an incredible blessing to be able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to let people know they have a loving Heavenly Father. It was an amazing experience for me, and it helped my testimony grow immensely, while i also learned the value of selfless service by giving up 18 months of my life to serve the Lord.
How I live my faith
I am a counselor in Primary at church, teaching the children ages 3-11. It is a joy and a challenge, but I love to see them grow as they learn about Jesus. I am also a visiting teacher and try to help other sisters in my ward by visiting them, and helping them with whatever they need. I am also a member of the choir at church which I enjoy.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
