I have worked at the Olympics and with the NFL. I now choose the adventure of being home raising my family of boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and stay-at-home-mom of three teen-age boys. It is the hardest and best job I have ever had! When I am not taking care of the needs of the men in my life, I like to knit, sew and quilt, watch movies (usually while I knit), read (but usually listen to audio-books while I knit) and spend time with friends. I love being in the mountains and sometimes in the garden.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church shortly after a pair of missionaries knocked on their door. I was born a couple years later. My parents have since become inactive members, but through my own study and prayer, I have been able to find out for myself that this is Jesus Christ's true church. We have a living prophet on the earth today. My life is blessed by keeping the commandments and following the teachings I have learned, and continue to learn.

How I live my faith

Right now I am the Sunday school teacher for the 12-13 year old kids. I love them! When they aren't making me roll my eyes they are making me smile with their knowledge and love of the gospel. I enjoy being of service wherever I can. I volunteer at the schools, I like to visit with my neighbors and I try to be a good example to those around me.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Family is very important in the church for more reasons than can be explained here. Holding the priesthood is just one of these reasons. Husbands act and bless their family with their priesthood, but wives benefit and honor the priesthood through their husbands. It is a symbiotic relationship. As I have participated in the church in various activities I have come to understand my importance as a woman in the church. There cannot be one without the other.

Women don't hold the priesthood in the church, as this is a teaching that has come from Jesus Christ. However, women have such a significant role to play in the church that personally I have never felt that this is an issue I am concerned with or even think about. My husband and I are equal partners in our family, and the church has such respect and reverence for women and their role in the world. Women in the church also belong to what is called the 'Relief Society' it is one of the largest women's organisation in the world, and fills me with such a desire to serve and do good that when we meet together wherever I am in the world I feel so proud to be apart of it.

Jesus Christ is the Savior of all humankind, the Son of the Living God, the Messiah, the holy and anointed one of Israel, and He lives today to guide and lead us back to our Heavenly Father.
