Gavin: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Gavin

"Begin anywhere."

About Me

I change the plan....a lot. But, it's always for the better. As long as I'm meeting new people and doing new things, I'm always happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't individually choose to be part of the church, but it is a humongous part of my family life. As I have grown up, I have kept it close to me for many reasons -- belonging, appreciation, and just overall happiness......the virtues that my religion has instilled are priceless.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer has been a HUGE part of my life. Growing up, I was only exposed to Mormonism through my grandparents, and even though I spent a lot of time with them and learned quite a bit about the church. I was always indirectly related to traditions associated with active members. So, through prayer, I can "make-up" for those lost experiences in a Mormon's day-to-day life. It has truly been the unifying theme between my personal and greater religion.

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

Brutal honesty and unwavering acceptance -- Every member of the family has to mesh their personal beliefs with the teachings of the church, and it isn't the same experience for everyone. As long as this is recognized, how could there be any problems?

How I live my faith

I live my faith through every moment of every day. There is hardly any conscious effort of truly experiencing it, and really, there shouldn't be! If I am at school, work, or elsewhere, my coinciding beliefs in the values and culture of the church are present no matter what.
