Hi, I'm sherrill graff

I believe in Christ and try to live my life in harmony with his teachings.

About Me

I grew up in Boulder Colorado. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. I have a twin sister Michele our younger brothers are also twins.
I moved to Boulder City Nevada when I was 18 to live with my grandfather. His wife had just passed away and he wanted company. I ended up staying there and finishing out the school year. It felt like the right thing for me to do. I graduated from BCHS in 1982. I was crowned Miss Damboree ( Miss Boulder City) in 1982. I became a cosmetologist. I married Mark Graff and we have 4 wonderful children. 2 boys 2 girls. # of them are still living at home all 3 are students and do very well.
Our oldest daughter is married to a wonderful man and they live in Virginia with their 2 beautiful children.
I have been scrapbooking and stamping as a demonstrator for a company called Stampin Up for the past 20 years. It has blessed my life and the lives of many of our friends. This years project is a Charity Scrapbook Crop fundraiser for a family in need.
I teach Seminary. (Bible classes for High School students)
I love to read the scriptures I believe they are true. I feel God's love when I read them.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in Christ. I believe we can all pray to our Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus Christ and he will hears us. I believe when we read the scriptures, if we do it often enough with an open heart God can talk to us in our minds and in our hearts through the Holy Ghost who will teach us all things we should do. I believe sin takes us away from feeling the Spirit of God and Repentance brings us back to feeling his love and forgiveness and allows once again the companionship of the Holy Ghost the third member of the God head. I believe Christ is the Savior of the world. He is our Brother, he is our King.
I also believe that some of my friends will give me a hard time about posting what I believe, while others who read this, will be prompted to join their voice with mine and say... We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Yes We are Christians. "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord".

... O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them; that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

Personal Stories

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

The real challenges started right after our youngest son was born. He was 3 months old when my Dear Husband Mark (only 34 years old) had his first heart attack.

I promised God if he would save my husbands life I would be a good person and raise a righteous family. After 5 bypass surgery and 6 months of recovery he was back to himself again.

Thank God for HUGE blessings. I sold all my stamps and my husband sold a gun or two to help pay the bills. (He is a hunter) Our parents helped too. We both have wonderful giving parents. We had help from the church and the community programs to provide Christmas for our Dear Children.

3 years later my husband had another heart attack with Angioplasty. I thank God for modern medicine! We sold everything again to help pay the bills. Our parents helped us out again. We also had some help for Christmas this year as well.

3 years after that Mark had developed an aneurysm on one of his bypasses. It was like living with a time bomb wondering if this was they day he wouldn't return home from work. Soon after, he had yet, another heart attack!

This time we were waiting in the surgery waiting room when the doctor came out and said "there is nothing I can do" My mother in law and I looked at each other and started to cry thinking he was gone. The doctor said "oh, let me rephrase that, there is nothing I NEED to do! You have been given a miracle!"

Marks aneurysm was no longer a threat, it had clotted itself off. The artery they had bypassed in the first place had opened itself back up and his heart has grown 2 little veins that were feeding the back part of his heart. (Something that doesn't usually happen to heart patients until they are in their 50's)

We have truly been blessed!

God has stood by us, our families have stood by us, our friends have stood by us, Stampin Up has been there when I could do it and on the back burner when I couldn't. We are all healthy and happy.

Thanks for allowing me to share my story with you.

How I live my faith

I give my time to teach high school students about Jesus Christ ever other week at 6 am as a Seminary Teacher.
I love and serve my family, my friends, people I meet and even total strangers because I have been blessed with so many things and I feel impressed to follow the example of Jesus Christ to serve, to love, to share and care about others.
Over the years my Stamping friends and I have created thousands of handcrafted greeting cards for children in area hospitals as well as for the blind center of southern nevada. We have donated warm blankets to children staying in the Las Vegas Ronald McDoanld house and have gathered food for the hungry. We as a church have fed the homeless and have provided many hours of service to others even people not of our faith. Why do we do it? Because we are members of Christ's Church here on the earth today and we have promised to live as Christ would live and do the things Christ would do so that we may always have his spirit to be with us.

"You have not lived a perfect day until you have done something for someone who can never repay you."
This is how I want to live my life every day
