About Me

I'm a mother, wife, and homemaker. I'm half Chinese. I love to run, read, cook healthy food, dance, decorate, eat out, watch musicals, and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His true church upon the earth. This gospel teaches me how to be a disciple of Christ, and I have received countless blessings because of my discipleship. Being Mormon provides me great joy and peace in my life.

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

Praying and reading the scriptures together brings peace to our home.

How I live my faith

I'm the assistant librarian in my ward. I help Sunday School and Primary teachers gather the materials they need to teach their lessons. I love this job!

I'm also a visiting teacher. I visit two sisters in my ward each month to make sure they are doing well and to see if there's anything I can do to help them.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes and yes. They are beautiful truths. This is why temples are so important to us. In temples, families are bound together for eternity.

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Because we believe in continuing revelation through Prophets as in the days of old, i.e. Moses, Abraham, this is uncomfortable for some people because media has made our Prophets seem like evil men leading people astray, when they are just trying to teach us correct principles so that one day we all may return to live with our Father in Heaven.

Another reason is because we believe in the sacred nature of temples, meaning only worthy members may enter the Temple so people think that evil rituals are performed. However, in reality the nature of the temple is uplifting and beautiful and gives us clarity to what the purpose of life is, the plan of salvation, and other topics such as life, death, and the atonement of Christ. The temple is not "secret, but it is sacred. However, we encourage all to live so that they may one day enter the temple.
