I am military brat. I grew up basically in different part of the West Coast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I lived in California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Idaho. I love to rock climb, mainly indoor, hike, biking, camping, and markmanship. I am 6 of 7 kids in my family. I am right now serving a mission in Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission. I love reading the Book of Mormon and seeing new insights of stories in the scriptures that I learned as a kid. I went to a year of college and put off for two years to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member since I was a little guy, but that is not the reason why I am a member. I am a member because of how I have been brought up in my home. With wonderful parents that have strong testimonies of the gospel. I believed on their words until I came up to gain a knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel. What came to me to really know of the truthfulness of the gospel is right before I went to college my Stake president gave a challenge to all the priesthood brethren in the stake to follow a reading chart to study the Book of Mormon with the seminary students that year. So couple weeks down the road I was at college and just started classes. Was playing a game of ultimate frisbee and ran into someone while playing and landed on my shoulder and got a heir-line fracture in my collar bone. For the next couple of days, before I seen the doctor, it was hurting really badly, but when the pain got strong I turned to the Book of Mormon and started reading it and the special spirit that comes with it overpowered the pain and took the pain away for a while. Because of those experiences it drives to where I want to share it with others because of the power that I seen come from it.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

We go on missions to serve the Lord. We have partaken of something great and that blessed our lives abundantly great that we want to share it with all those who we can. We want to help people strength their families and draw even closer to our Savior Jesus Christ just like we have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by getting up in the morning studying the scriptures and serve the people of Louisiana as a missionary of the the Lord. I invite all to come unto Christ.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

The reason why we are called the "Mormons" is because we use another set of scriptures that goes hand to hand with the Bible called the Book Of Mormon. People gives us the nickname because we use the Book of Mormon, hence the nickname came about.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely not! I grew up in the church and I'd say the number of people that I've helped in the church is significantly smaller than the number of people I've assisted out side the church. This is not to say I don't help my fellow church members. We believe that we are all children of our Heavenly Father. And by that reasoning we are all brothers and sisters. I take that to heart and when I see someone in need I try to help to the best of my ability and training. Organized service projects aside, I've helped several stranded motorists on the side of the road. I give food to people I've seen that appear to be hungry on the side of the road. And for a long time, when I was growing up, my dad and I would do Meals on Wheels for those in need. I've volunteered at soup kitchens more recently. And during times of widely known hurricanes, I've volunteered on clean up crews multiple times. There is a song we have in our church called "Because I Have Been Given Much." I don't want to post the entire lyrics here, but they are available on a popular search engine. That song is very poignant to me and has always been near and dear to my heart. Also being a former Boy Scout, I have tried to uphold both the Scout Law and Oath to this day. I love my Heavenly Father, and I love my fellow man and want to do all I can to help others in any way I can.
