Hi, I'm Jennifer
I'm a busy mom. I'm an Arizona girl at heart and I love music. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a busy mom with four beautiful kids. I'm lucky enough to get to stay home with them and although it is the hardest job in the world, I absolutely love it! I grew up in Arizona and have lived in Utah, California, Kansas and Washington since. I have a degree in music and love any chance I get to sing or otherwise use some of the things I have learned. I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, shopping, decorating our home and spending time with family and friends.
Why I am a Mormon
The gospel of Jesus Christ affects every facet of my life. The knowledge I have about my Savior, His love for me, and the purpose of my life gives me direction and hope. I know that what I do here has meaning, even the small daily decisions I make. The gospel has given me a glimpse into eternity and made me realize that life is a gift and the ability we have to repent of our mistakes and return to live with God again is possible because Jesus Christ was willing to suffer and die for each of us. I feel so incredibly blessed to live at a time when the true fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. I am so grateful for modern day revelation, that God still speaks to us through His prophet, and that we can each have a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father through prayer. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an incredible blessing in my life.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?
The Holy Ghost (or the Spirit) is an incredible gift from God. I have felt the Spirit's influence countless times in my life. I have been guided, protected, comforted and given knowledge through the Spirit. I have asked questions and received answers from God through the Spirit. The Holy Ghost testifies of truth.
Recently my family went through a very difficult experience where we felt the Holy Ghost many times. Our baby was born in a very difficult situation, out of state, and because of his prematurity and medical conditions we could not return home for nearly two months. Then once we were able to get the family home and adjusted we put this baby through open heart surgery. It was the most difficult thing that my husband or I had been through. There were many points in time during that nine months when there were great unknowns and other points in time when we felt like virtually every aspect of our lives were out of our control. This was a time that we chose to cling to God and although not knowing how everything would turn out, we received the strong feeling from the Spirit on countless days that it was going to be okay. We knew through the Spirit that all of this would be for our good. This great trial changed us as a family and as individuals and the Holy Ghost supported us through all of it and gave us peace. We received the strength we needed to get through the hard days, and the love we felt from our Heavenly Father for us and for our precious baby was constant. How grateful I am for the Holy Ghost!
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
God did not send us here to Earth to go through life alone or without help. He has given us many helps, and one of those helps is the people in our lives. He places people in our path that can give us the help or guidance we need. We have all been given certain gifts and talents to bless the lives of other people. Some talents are pretty easy to spot, and some are harder to realize. One of my talents is having a love for music. This talent is one that is pretty easy for others to see, especially when I have an opportunity to perform. But I know that I have been given this gift not to keep it to myself, but to share it when the opportunities arise. Everyone has talents and gifts to share. My family and I are constantly blessed by neighbors, family, friends and sometimes strangers who willingly share their talents with us.
How I live my faith
Living my faith comes down to the every day. It is about my interactions with my neighbors and those I come into contact with. It is about my priorities and not letting the craziness of life distract me from the daily habits of prayer and scripture study that keep my testimony firm. It is about my family and doing everything I can to make our home a place of refuge and peace. And hopefully through all of the daily ups and downs, I do my best to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Service is a big part of living my faith. In the Church we hold callings or are asked to donate our time to serve in different positions. I have done many things in the past to serve in the wards where I have lived. I have loved working with the small children, teaching the teenage girls, teaching cub scouts (although that particular job was a bit of a stretch for me with no brothers growing up and not much camping experience!), directing the choir, playing the piano and teaching the women lessons. I currently organize the music for the meetings on Sundays, which is something that I enjoy quite a bit. I love the opportunities that I have to serve in the Church because I am stretched in new directions and learn to love those that I work with. And I find new abilities that I have, such as being able to keep nine 8 year old cub scout boys engaged and under control while we learn how to make things. Who would have thought!
