Hi, I'm Nathan
I'm a musician. I'm a mountaineer. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I grew up in Utah and am indebted to loving parents who taught me hard work and obedience. I see every challenge that comes my way as an opportunity to learn and grow. I have a great love for learning. I am constantly hungry to learn new things. I've learned that in order to get knew knowledge, we have to follow the processes that get us there.
Why I am a Mormon
I'm a Mormon because I love Truth. I cling to it wherever I can find it. I have found that one of the greatest ways to learn truth is through prayer. That's how I developed a knowledge and understanding of the truth of this Church.
Personal Stories
How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?
In two ways. First: because of the words of the Book itself. There are such beautiful doctrines taught in it and the more I read it, the more I understand and love it. They teach me who I am and why I'm here on the planet. And that changes everything.
Second: because of everything the Book of Mormon entails. If the Book of Mormon is false, then Joseph Smith was a fraud and all those beautiful teachings are wrong. But I know that it's not, and that he wasn't, and that they aren't. Therefore, I can learn more and more about who I am and why I'm here on the planet, on a daily basis.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by doing my best to treat everyone around me as my brother or sister and as a son or daughter of God. I always try to remember that I am a son of God as well. That means to me that there are certain laws that I have to follow and expectations that I have to live up to. It also means that I can trust Him with all my heart and know that things will be alright regardless of how complicated they seem.
