Andrew: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Andrew

I love to sing and play golf, And, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 20 years old, and am currently serving a mission in St. Louis, Missouri. I am from the suburbs of Salt Lake City. I'm the oldest of two children, and am very close to my 16 year old sister.

I have lived a few places throughout my life. I was born in Walnut Creek, California, just outside of San Fransisco. I have also lived in Denver, Colorado, Springfield, Virginia. I have lived in Utah for the last 13 years.

I have been a mormon for my entire life. My mom was raised in the church too, and my dad converted when he was 18. I know that if it wasn't for them and their diligence in this gospel I wouldn't be here either.

Some of my hobies are singing (mainly in choirs), watching sports, playing golf, and playing card games with anyone willing.

Oh, and before I forget, I'm currently on a mission for the church in St. Louis, Missouri! I love the atmosphere and the people out here. Everyone is very devoted to what they believe in, and that's the way it should be.

Why I am a Mormon

As I stated earlier, I was born in the church. But that doesn't mean that I've always known that it was true. Honestly, I really didn't know that this is where God wanted me until about a year or so ago. The way I found out was very simple: I prayed about it. I knelt down and offered up my heart to the Lord. I told him what I knew and believed, and then very simply asked Him if this was His church on the earth. I didn't recieve any huge sign or anything, but just a quiet whispering in the back of my mind that said, "you know that it's true." Then the reassurance came, I did know that it was true, and I know that it is where God wants me to be.
The rest is history. I know that what I am doing is right, and that God is proud of me.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is a big part in my life. I pray several times a day. And the reason is because I love my Heavenly Father. I know that he cares for me and that he wants to hear from me too. I feel that I have a personal relationship with God. I can talk to Him at any time or wherever I am at. He is always there.

One of my favorite parts of prayer is the fact that I can recieve answers from God through prayer. I can remember several experiences where I simply talked with Him and told him of the questions in my mind, and asked him how I could do something. Without fail, He will answer. Later on in the day, I will recieve an answer, a quiet whispering in the back of my mind, telling me the answer. The thing that I've noticed is that I usually recieve the answer while doing something spiritually uplifting, such as reading from the Bible or the Book of Mormon, watching an uplifting movie, or listening to spiritual music. God will always answer when we ars seeking for it.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith, now, is by serving the Lord full time, while I'm on a mission. I have been serving in the St. Louis area for about 17 months now, and will be continuing until the start of May 2011. Doing this service has helped me to learn a great deal about the world, myself, and my relationship with God. Some of the specific ways that I am able to do that is by praying many times a day, and by studying the scriptures (the Bible and the Book of Mormon) daily. These are great resources that God has given us to be able to draw closer to Him, and to know what He wants us to do.
