Casper: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Casper

I'm a Husband. I'm a Dad. I know my purpose. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Malaysia and I am of Chinese descent. My family and I migrated to South Australia when I was 12 and it's been my home ever since. I'm happily married to a gorgeous lady and together we have four beautiful children. I have a management advisory practice that helps large organisations make better decisions on managing their information. My hobbies include cartooning for kids, fishing, general fitness, good food and goofing around with my family. Life's good!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the set of principles I have to live by and, even more importantly, because I know they are true. I know this because I have a knowledge that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I've tested the principles that are taught inside it. It frightens me to think of what may have been had I not become a Mormon because I know myself well. It has given me a testimony of Jesus Christ and his Atonement. Without it life would be very different for me. I don't want it to be different. I'm happy with the direction that my life is progressing. Being a Mormon gives me hope.

Personal Stories

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

For this purpose and as a Dad, I recommend a weekly family night that everyone in the family sets aside to spend time together in doing some sort of activity. It's also a good place to discuss any issues that may arise and affect the family. The other important thing to do (also speaking as a father) is to make sure that I go on a date with each member of my family at least once a month just to enjoy one another's company and have a chat to see how things are going and where support may be needed.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

The Savior's actions and attitude toward his responsibilities had great impact on my life and what I strive for. He was the greatest example of perseverance, having suffered so much, he still endured to the very end and achieved what he was sent to earth to accomplish. He was the greatest example of charity and unconditional love, suffering for our sins and then suffering death on the cross.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

Mormons go on missions to serve others and to better themselves. They serve others by teaching others the gospel of Jesus Christ and how to apply it in real life. By doing so, they witness the lives of many they come into contact with change for the better. What some who serve missions don't realize is that missions also bless their lives by strengthening their own testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ and by providing opportunities to learn important skills that prepare them for life after their mission in relation to marriage, parenthood, leadership, their career and many other aspect sof their lives.

How I live my faith

I think the most important way to live my faith is to be a good father and husband. That means spending time with them and being a good example. This is also how I think I can serve my community best, by raising my kids to have good social and moral values, always willing serve others. I also love sharing my faith with others knowing that the same principles that have helped me in my life will also help them. I 'm not perfect but if I was, I'd always have a kind word to say to every person I meet and treat them as if they were my brother or sister. That is what I'm striving for. Hopefully I'll get there one day!
