About Me

I immigrated with my family to the United States from the Philippines when I was young. I'm now a motion broadcast graphic artist. I work with 2D and 3D programs to make television more visually appealing.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. I believe that families are central to Christ's plan and that we can be better husbands and wives if we obey His teachings.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

Attending church has always been a part of my life. I love the feeling of peace and guidance I receive as I attend each Sunday. It is a wonderful time to stop my fast-paced life and reflect on my life and the things that matter most.

How I live my faith

I work with missionaries and members of my faith to help share with others the teachings of Jesus Christ. As we are invited into homes we share with families the message of the Gospel.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

I served a mission in the Philippines from 1999-2001. It was a great privilege teaching in the land of my birth in my native tongue. As Mormons, we believe that every worthy, able young man should prepare to serve a mission.

Quite simply, no. The young men of the church have been strongly encouraged to serve a mission at age 19, and the sisters are able to serve at age 21, but no one is required to serve. We do it because we want to! Who in their right mind would give up two years and pay that's right, missionaries pay their own way to go somewhere they had never been and do all that they do? We serve missions becuase we know that Jesus is the Christ, and we want the happiness that knowledge bring to be available to everyone! So no, Mormons are not required to serve a mission. It's a personal choice to share the happiness and joy they've received from the Gospel.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Of course the Church does not endorse political parties. Political parties do not represent the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But all the members of the Church are encouraged to participate in the political system and many have and do. We will be held responsible for our actions in the political arena just as we are in every other activity of our lives. I feel strongly that we have an obligation to support the Constitution of this land and that the Lord had a lot to do in its founding and in the freedoms that we receive from adhering to its principles. The Founding Fathers were inspired by God and we should be inspired by them. There are many criteria that we can use to choose political candidates but none are of more value than that recommended by modern scripture, namely, to search after honest and good men. I love our American Republic and our Constitution and try to support men or women who support the ideas and principles found in that document. According to the Declaration of Independence we receive our rights from our creator and must be ever aware that we do not turn our rights to the whims of men, however well meaning they may be. I am not a fan of political parties and consider myself a Constitutional conservative and very independent.
