Jeff: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Jeff

I'm a Mormon. I'm a student. I'm a husband of three and a half years.

About Me

I am 26 years old. I grew up in Rancho Cordova where my parents joined the LDS church. We moved to Anchorage, Alaska when I was twelve and back to Rancho Cordova when I was sixteen. I graduated High School from Cordova High and went on a mission to the Idaho, Boise Mission. I have been married for three and a half years and I am currently attending CSUS to get a Business degree. Life's pretty good these days.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that all the crazy things (at least they're crazy from the outside looking in) we believe are true. I know for myself they are true because I have asked God through prayer and he has answered my prayer. I gain life's greatest satisfaction by knowing where I came from, Why I am here on Earth, and where I am going after this life.

Personal Stories

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

I remember when I was growing up as a child that my family spent Monday nights together. We would start with a prayer and butcher what we wanted to call a song. We would talk about family business and vacations etc. We then had a spiritual message and an activity. Following the activity we would close with a prayer by blessing refreshments (brownies or rice crispy treats usually) and then eat up. This experience is something that happens in Mormon homes all over the world and is called FHE ( Family Home Evening).

I know that when my family forgot to have it our weeks were full of arguments and frustration. I know that a simple task or time to spend together is what brings families closer together.

Another way that my family's home achieved greater harmony on our home was by having dinner at the dinner table all together, or at least whoever was home, and discussing our day.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I teach Sunday school to 8-12 of the most wonderful 12-16 year old boys and girls. Each Sunday this year (2010) we discuss stories from the Old Testament.

Each month I visit homes of other Mormon families just like mine to see how they are doing. I ask them if they need help with their home or if I can babysit. I share a short spiritual message and let them know that I care about them and that they can call me any time they feel the need. This is called Home Teaching.
