Hi, I'm Cutler
I'm 30 yrs. old and after sacrificing everything at home I was called to serve a mission in Florida. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I come from a family of 6 kids. All of which are so different in their own way. I am the middle child and had my own share of struggles growing up. Because I was the middle child one of my favorite hobbies was to mimic my older sister and be just like her, till one day she gave me permission to be my own self (ha ha). Since then I have come to develop my own likes and dislikes. I love country music, dancing, singing, horseback riding, rock climbing, playing sports, video games, learning new things, and so many more. I've had my own share of ups and downs but the thing that always gets me through them all is my faith in the Savior and the happiness I find in my testimony of the restored gospel.
Why I am a Mormon
Although I was raised in the church, and although my family have been members for 5 generations, I have had to come to a point in my life where I had to stop leaning on my parents testimony and receive a witness of the truth for myself. Why was I living my life the way I was and why was it so important to live the way I was and make the choices I was making. I always knew I wanted to be a good example to my friends but little did I know that just being an example in who I was and the choices I made wasn't all I needed to do. Instead of inviting them to my activities and lifting them towards Christ, I was getting involved in their activities and in turn it was those things that drew me away from Christ. After awhile I realized that the path I was on wasn't going in the direction I thought it was. I felt the influence of Satan drawing me away from all that I had ever been taught. I wanted to help my friends so badly learn about the one thing in my life that brought me so much happiness. But in order to help them I had to help myself and become stronger so I could help them. I finally stepped away from that lifestyle. I never stopped attending church, reading, or praying, but so many other things were affected by that lifestyle and it wasn't till I left that I found so much more happiness and peace than I ever had experienced before. It was all in my turning my heart back towards Christ and His atonement. I decided that if I was going to continue on this path I needed to know what was true. So I prayed and asked Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true. I got my answer, although it wasn't the answer I was looking for, it was an answer still. My answer told me in my heart that I already knew that the Book of Mormon was true. I came to realize that the witness I was looking for was actually happening every time I read. Because of this strengthened testimony, I was so much more happier than I ever thought my friends could make me. And so I wanted even more to share with others what I had that made me so happy.

Why do Mormons go on missions?
Mormons go on missions because the truth in the gospel brings so much happiness and peace that you can't find anywhere else. It also brings you closer to God and his love for his children. He truly wants to open the windows of heaven and bless us so much that we can not even comprehend. But it is only according to our obedience. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith was a prophet, and if Joseph Smith is a prophet than that means that there are commandments that God is still giving us today that we have been commanded to keep and if we don't know them how are we to be obedient and how is God suppose to bless us for our obedience. So we go out hoping to share this knowledge with everyone. Satan is real and tries his hardest to convince people otherwise, so we go out combating the power of Satan with the truth that we share. All can come to know of this truth for themselves by reading the Book of Mormon getting a conviction of it's truth and divinity and in turn will then be able to gain the conviction of the truth that prophets are called to lead and guide his people today. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and he loves us the same as he loved them of old. I went on a mission because I have felt the same passion and desire the sons of Mosiah had in sharing the gospel. "Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble." (Mosiah 28:3)
How I live my faith
I live my faith one day at a time with the hope that my faith, conviction, and obedience to Christ will help me receive the Holy Ghost in my life more fully so that I can make righteous decisions, to show my Heavenly Father that I am thankful for the sacrifice that was made for me and that I love them both. I also live my faith by sharing the things that I truly treasure. Sacrificing 18 months of my life to go on a mission has allowed me to focus all of my efforts on sharing those precious truths so that those who don't know, will have the opportunity to know, and to accept the same truths I have and in turn receive the same happiness and peace in their life.
