Hi, I'm Cameron
I gave two years of my life for God, I'm a Mormon.
About Me
Hi, im currently a Missionary in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. I love computers, infact, I want to go to college when I get home to learn as much as I can! I have lived in California and Utah. I love to ride 4 wheelers with my dad at the sand dunes with friends. I love to hang out with my mom, we do a lot of fun things, like go to the movies, talk and just have fun.
Why I am a Mormon
I have always been a member, and I love how the Gospel works. I have experienced many confirmations to know that this church is true. I didnt always believe the church to be true, infact, I would say that I started to believe that there is no God, that we all just wound up here in a big massive rocky lump. I started to belive in science more that God. But one day my dad asked me "Son, do you want to go on a mission?" I thought that it would be a good experiance to get me started in life, get to know how to live on my own, and with a room mate, not really to teach people about the Gospel. So i decided that I was going to go on a mission. When I was on my mission is the time where I really sencierely asked Heavenly Father if these things are true. I recived an answer to the affermitive. Once I recived my answer that this was true, things just started to make sence to me in the scriptures. By following the Prophet and listening to his words, I have come to know more about the scriptures and how they influence me in every way.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
Church members have an oppertunity to searve what we call Missions. This is a period of time where we are set apart from the world to go and teach the gospel to people all around the world. Males ages 19 - 26 can serve a 2 year mission, Females can serve an 18 month mission(s) after the age of 21. All my life I have been expected to serve a full time mission, I finally truly wanted to go after I aquired of the Lord and asked him if this is somthing I should really do. After I recived my answer of yes, I recived my call to Jacksonville Florida.
Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?
Because we believe this gospel to be the one and true way, everyone needs that oppertunity to accept it or reject it. If there is a convert in the church, and none of his family members accepted the gospel, or even had an oppertunity to do so, then genealogy makes it possible to know who those people are, so they may be baptized in proxy. This is done in our temples.
How I live my faith
I am am showing my faith toward Christ by serving a full time mission. I havent been able to do much else in the church, due to my age, but I do plan on living the Gospel to the fullest. I plan on finding that special someone and being married in the temple for time and eternity. I will do all of my duties as a member of the Church.
