Hi, I'm Shannon Staker
I am a mother of 3 boys. I am married to a CRNA. I craft, I blog, I am a college student. But most important I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a mother of three rambunctious boys. I am a wife to a recently graduated CRNA. I just started college at thirty years old. I am a blogger. I am a crafter. I am an artist. I struggle with depression, but I don't let it pull me down. I am me.
Why I am a Mormon
For me this answer is simple. Because I know this it the true church. How do I know? I was born into a family that were members of the LDS church. I was raised active and I never doubted the church or what I believed. I then got married at 18 years old, and that's when everything changed for me. Life was hard, and I doubted. I doubted the truths of the gospel. But deep down I knew. I could never leave the church I could never stray to far because I knew without a doubt that this is the true church. That Christ died for me and for you. That Joseph Smith was a latterday prophet. That he restored the Church to the Earth. I know that I am part of Christs bigger plan. That I am here for a purpose. I am guided, directed, and watched over. So for me it's simple. I am mormon because I couldn't be anything else. Once you know something, you can't turn back. It's just who you are and what you do, and what you strive for. I wear the label Mormon proudly. I Am Mormon.
Personal Stories
Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?
The Savior teaches us to Love Everyone. To help, to support, to be kind, to cherish. My goal everyday is to make someone elses life better. Christ also loved the Children. He still loves little children. He counsels us to be like them. I try to learn from my children everyday. I try to understand their experiences and their way of thinking. I spend all the time I can with them. That is the greatest gift I can give to them is my time. It's not always easy, but it's worth it.
How I live my faith
I currently don't have a calling. I was just released from being a local scout leader. Which I loved. I have served many years teaching the young children in Primary, and teaching teenagers in Sunday School. I have also spent time in the nursery with the young young children.
I also am active in service. If someone from my area is in need of a meal, or babysitting I step right in.I LOVE to help others in any way that I can.
I also am teaching my three children at home about our faith. I am surrounding them with spiritual feelings, photo's, and experiences. Our home is their safe haven.
