Tim: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Tim

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently began a master's degree physician assistant program which takes up most of my time. I have been married for a little over four years and have a two-year-old daughter; I spend the rest of my time with them. Together we enjoy camping, fishing, and reading good books (classics, non-fiction science, with some Harry Potter and Dr. Suess thrown in). We love to watch NBA basketball (Go SUNS).

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a "Mormon" family and growing up I always felt in my heart that what my parents taught me about Christ and gospel living was true. As I got older (~18-21 yrs old), I reflected more on how the principles that I had learned in my family and in church were positively impacting my life both spiritually and in general. I was especially impressed during this time as I would read often from the Book of Mormon. Its passages inspired me with faith and hope and would leave me with an overwhelming desire to do and be better. This was confirmation to me that the Book of Mormon and its teachings were from God, just as the passages in the Bible are. This understanding continues to motivate my faith and participation in church.

How I live my faith

Living my faith includes daily personal and family prayer. We also spend one evening each week as a family to play games and discuss a gospel teaching like honesty or forgiveness. I volunteer to make regular visits to families in our congregation to offer friendship and service. I also volunteer with local missionaries to help teach individuals who want to learn more about our beliefs. Other aspects of living our faith include healthy eating and giving time and resources to help the less fortunate. I have volunteered at church farms and food packing plants that provide food and other essentials to victims of disaster and the poor.
