Hi, I'm Daniel
I'm a psychology major, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am 23 years old and am just finishing up a major in Psychology with a minor in Human Rights. I plan to start grad school next year with a masters in Social Entrepreneurship . I love the outdoors and like to go running when I have the time. I also enjoy trying out different restaurants in the greater Seattle area. One of my favorite hobbies is volunteering at a women’s and children’s shelter in south Seattle. Besides that I stay pretty busy both working nights at a hotel and going to school full time.
Why I am a Mormon
When I was born my parents were already active members of the LDS church. I was blessed to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ as a child and throughout my life. But the reason that I’m a Mormon is because I’ve experienced for myself the peace that comes through living the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Simply said, I’m a Mormon because that’s what makes me happy, but more importantly, that’s what makes me happy because I’ve received a witness from the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints really is the church that Christ himself established and then restored for our times.

Why do Mormons go on missions?
Christianity has been a missionary religion from the beginning. After his resurrection, Christ commanded his disciples, telling them, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19.) We believe that through missionary service we are working to carry out this commandment.
Perhaps a more specific question, one that I’ve often been asked is Why We Proselyte To Those Who Are Already Christian? In response to that question, my answer is this. We believe that the Original Church of Jesus Christ has been restored with the same organization and authority as initially established. Though good people and teachings can be found in other faiths all over the world, we affirm that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and is guided by Christ himself through modern day revelation. That is why we do missionary work. We invite all people to come to that same understanding.
How I live my faith
The way I live my faith is simple. It’s by striving to always live the way I know to be right. In my congregation, I’m responsible for coordinating the efforts of the full time missionaries with local members. I also assist the full time missionaries in helping visitors and new members of the church to learn about and feel welcome at the church.
