Personal Stories
Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?
I was a missionary to Korea in the early 1970s. The work was hard. The winters were cold. But the people were wonderful. Recently I stopped in Korea en route to another destination. I spent a day in Seoul. It brought back wonderful memories. It still does.
What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?
About ten years ago my parents went on a mission to South Africa. We took that opportunity to start a family email list where we could share information about our lives each week. Every Sunday we try to write something and send it out. Most people in the family participate once every few months. It helps us keep in touch and improves my own feelings of belonging to a family that loves each other.
How I live my faith
I assist the bishop by maintaining church membership records (unpaid volunteer). I pay 10% of my income (or more) as donations to the church. I attend weekly church meetings. I work one evening each week in the Temple near my home. I read scriptures daily to grow closer to God and to improve my knowledge of the gospel.
