Hi, I'm Joseph
I have lived in Ohio, Utah, Italy, and Michigan. I am a teacher and a writer. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a husband, a dad of two, a primary teacher, and a teacher. I recently lost my job with a private school and have had to start all over again. It's strange going back to the beginning, and humbling. My family and I remember together, and much more frequently, how blessed we really are and how much we rely on each other and the Lord. I love this church, and my Savior at its head.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised a Mormon, but that's not why I'm still a Mormon. After some, well, let's call it "stuff," as a teenager and early college student, I had to figure things out for myself. I did. I'm a Mormon, because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. Period. Prayer, tithing, and church attendance kept me alive--spiritually, even physically, when it comes right down to it--and, from the Holy Ghost, I got my answer. There's no place else for me to be.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
I served my mission, because I had and have a testimony of the Restoration--the Lord's priesthood and His established church organized again and fully. I didn't serve a mission to force other people into the Church or to tell them they were wrong in their beliefs. I served a mission because I love what I have, and I wanted to give other people the opportunity to have it, too.
How I live my faith
I wise man once told me that if I wanted to "make it" (and he meant in any and every way), then I have to "go to work everyday." That applies to church to. I'm not a member of the Church on Sundays, I'm a member every day.
