Hi, I'm Ken
I'm a husband, father, business owner, sailor, motocross rider, cyclist and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a husband and father of four amazing children. I own and operate several businesses in the motocross industry. I have many hobbies such as riding motorcycles, sailing, kayaking, cycling, hiking and general fitness.
Why I am a Mormon
At a critical time in my life I wondered what life was all about. Why was I here and where was I going after this life were questions that haunted me. While I believed in a supreme power I did not know or believe in "God". However, faced with a significant challenge in my life I sought help and promised that if there was a God and he could hear me and help me I would do whatever was asked of me. Eventually, I was led to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was challenged to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it was true and if Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet of God. I did read and pray and received a powerful spiritual witness the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. All of this occurred when I was seventeen years old. The gospel of Jesus Christ has forever changed my life. I am eternally grateful for my testimony and the principles of the gospel that direct my life.
Personal Stories
Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.
I have a great admiration for the Prophet Joseph Smith. He lived great and died great. At the young age of 14 he was so perplexed with which of all the churches he should join that he went to a grove of trees to pray vocally to ask God. His prayer was answered as he saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. He was told to join none of them. From that moment his life would never be the same. He was loved as a prophet by those who prayed to know if what he said was true and hated and persecuted by many who would not. He was an instrument in God's hands to restore the ancient church of Christ. Since his martyrdom the church as grown to be an international force for good and for bringing people to Christ. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and did in fact see God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. He was an instrument in God's hands to restore the priesthood and ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ which had been lost through the apostasy. I know this because I have prayed to God to know if these things are true. You too can know by the same means.
How I live my faith
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I live my faith through service to my family, fellow church members, neighbors and in the community. Most members of the church are asked to serve in some capacity as there are no paid clergy, teachers or administrators. Over the years I've served in many capacities and this service has helped me grow in the gospel. It allows me to emulate the Savior in serving others.
