About Me

I am a young wife and mother. I love music (that includes dancing and singing too), a good joke, reading, and the Arizona desert.

Why I am a Mormon

I am happy because I know and live the gospel of Jesus Christ. The joy and peace I feel in my life affects not only me but my family life too. That is a great blessing. I know that if I put my trust and faith in Jesus Christ that things will work out--even if things are not going as planned.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

Heavenly Father does hear and answer prayers. He answered mine when I prayed all my life for a good, worthy husband. He has answered my prayers and given me peace when I have felt anxious and frustrated. Even now I've been praying a long time for something that I need. Though it's hard to be patient, I have faith and know that Heavenly Father will bless me with that blessing someday. I don't know when, but he will.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in daily things I do including: scripture study and prayer. Though I'm not perfect, I try to treat others as I would want them to treat me. I also participate in my ward by teaching the 9-10 year olds every Sunday about the Old Testament.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

The full title of the church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." However, the church is often called the "Mormon church" too. This is because the members believe in another book of scripture (beside the Bible) called the Book of Mormon. When the Church was organized by Joseph Smith in the 1830's, people referred to the members of the church as "Mormons" because of their unique book of scripture. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also go by "LDS" for short.
