Hi, I'm Robert
I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm a small business owner, a father of 6, and a grandfather of 7. My family is my life. I believe in old fashion traditional American values. I love to play golf when I can. I'm a Boy Scout Woodbadger.
Why I am a Mormon
I'm a converted Southern Baptist who learned that the restoration of Jesus Christ's Church is real. That Jesus Christ Himself is the head of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I always knew that Heavenly Father spoke to us throught Prophets, now I know He does in our time. The reading of the Book of Mormon is what testified to me that this Church is true. When I read its words and study its doctrine the Holy Spirit testifies to me that it is from God, and that it was given to us through latter day revelation. That it was given for me and you to know of the return of the true Gospel on the earth again. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has taught me that righteousness and happiness go together. Through these Gospel truths you and all mankind can know what Jesus Christ wants us to do and be in this life. I now have the answers to lifes most misunderstood questions. Why I am here? Where did I come from? And where am I going when this life is over? And most of all what Heavenly Father wants me to do to return home with Him and my family for time and all eternity.
Personal Stories
What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?
Happiness and joy in this life is not an easy thing with all the trials and struggles that life throws at us. As I look back on my life so far I see that when I have been active in the Church, and when I have been trying to live the commandments that is when I have been the happyiest no matter what other struggles live has given me.
How has attending Church services helped you?
Our world today is moving faster and faster, more information than ever before is at our fingertips. Attending Church regularly keeps my focus on the things that really matter. Just as my body needs good healthy food, my mind and spirit need good healthy positive input that the Gospel gives me every Sunday. One of my favorite sayings to have joy, happiness and success in this life we all need PSA. Which stands for Prayer, Scriptures, and Attending Church.
Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?
We share the gospel with our friends by how we live, by our example. When we feel a friend wants to know more about the Church we give them a Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is the key to knowing the Gospel is true.
Can you think of a specific challenge in your family that Gospel Principles helped overcome?
We lost our 3 year old granddaughter last year, April 2009. She was our first grandchild and my wife and I helped my daughter raise her due to divorce. All of our 6 children loved Lily and helped us raise her. We would never have gotten through the pain, and anquish of thispassing of this little child of God, without the Gospel Principles taught us through the Church. We know that if we stay obedient and do our best to live worthy that our family can be together in eternity, and that we will be with our Little "Lily" again.
How I live my faith
I currently serve Christ's Church as a member of a committee, called a high counsel, that works with 9 different church congregations, called wards. I have served over the years in many callings. The church has no paid ministry so my service and that of the members administer and lead the congregations. I have served on 3 different school advisory boards in my community. I have been a youth coach on several different sports with my sons and daughters. My greatest callings in life have been that of a father, grandfather, and husband. My family, the Church, and my businesses are what I live for.
