Hi, I'm Kylir
I'm a software developer, a devoted husband, and a happy father. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I work for a small company as a software developer. I also really like gardening, taking pictures of interesting things, and doing triathlons. But most of all, I enjoy doing just about anything with my wife, daughter, and dog.
Why I am a Mormon
When I first read the New Testament as a young teenager, I was amazed by the teachings of Jesus Christ. I knew I had stumbled upon a treasure chest of wisdom. I knew that if I lived a Christ-like life that I would be happy and become the best that I can be.
Reading the Book of Mormon has likewise transformed my life. I have loved the wisdom shared within its pages. Like the New Testament, it has strengthened my resolve to follow Christ.
I have taken the challenge of asking God for myself if the Bible and Book of Mormon are true. And my prayers have been answered. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true. I am a Mormon because living the teachings of Jesus Christ has made me happy.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
I served a mission to central Mexico between 2000 - 2003. The experience truly changed my life. I witnessed first hand the power of the Gospel in changing people's lives for the best. My mission was a unique opportunity to focus almost entirely on serving other people. It brought tremendous personal happiness, satisfaction, and growth. My wife and I are looking forward to the time when we can both serve as a senior missionary couple.
How I live my faith
Currently I participate in church as a Sunday school instructor. I teach members about the temple and help them to prepare to enter it for the first time. In addition, I help teachers to become more proficient instructors and teach a course to help strengthen family ties.
I also work with the local Boy Scout Troop as an advancement committee chairperson. I love helping the scouts to achieve ranks and earn merit badges.
