I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of three beautiful little girls, and one handsome little boy. I enjoy reading, playing games, spending time with friends and especially being with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but did not participate much as a child. We would go occasionally and I was baptized, but I think I went along with it more than accepted it. When I was 13 however, I moved into a new ward and began attending. It was there, through good friends and a strong youth program that I began to gain my own testimony. When I started high school I also enrolled in Seminary and had a wonderful teacher who shared his testimony and made me want to have one of my own. Through scripture study, prayer and learning I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel for myself. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, I know that my Heavenly Father lives, and I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that through him the gospel was restored to the earth.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I enjoy cooking and learning to make new recipes for my family. I also enjoy sharing what I learn with other. I am able to help others through the simple service of bringing in a meal when a family can use a hand. I like knowing that something that I enjoy can help to make someones day easier.

How I live my faith

I am able to help organize the monthly activities for the women in our ward. During the activities we try to learn new ways to strengthen our families, enrich ourselves and serve those around us.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are central to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are taught that the family is the central part of God's plan of happiness for us. It is through our family that we can receive the most joy. Through the Gospel we learn that Heavenly Father wants us to be together and to learn and grow as a family. We are also taught that if we strive to live the Gospel and follow the teachings of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ then we can be together with our families forever.

We believe that our families are the basic unit of any society, and that failure in the home means that we've failed as a nation and a people. We've heard that it takes a village to raise a child, and that's true enough. But our leaders have told us that the most important work we can do in life, even more than any professional pursuits, is to raise our children in righteousness.

Think about it. If each father and mother were just a little more engaged in their family's lives i'm not talking about controlling their family, helping their sons and daughters with the challenges they constantly face, the crises we find ourselves in as a nation would become much less. We'd more good in the world as a result. You may think that naive or unrealistic, but I know how much good one family can cause, and how much pain another can cause. We want to change the world, and to do that we need to change ourselves and help our families become better too.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Believing in Christ is believing in his perfection. Being perfect he will always do what is in the best interests of his people. In times past man has needed the assistance of great men to help them in their journey home. That need has never changed. In fact, there has never been a greater need of a prophet to guide the people than there is right now.
