Hi, I'm Justin
I love my dog and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I was just married to my wife Shelby Brennan last August and we currently attend classes at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. My dream is to teach at a University some day, and so as we get ready to graduate, we are also looking forward to attending graduate school. I am originally from Washington State and Shelby is from Oregon and we hope to one day end up back in the Pacific Northwest.
My favorite thing to do is to read about old things. In school I study the classics, mostly because its broad subject matter allows for my broad range of interest. Currently, I am very interested in Aristotle, the pre-Socratic philosophers, and ancient mathematics. I also like to carve soapstone, snowshoe, and watch documentaries.
Why I am a Mormon
To give an account of why I am a Mormon is a strangely difficult task, and I think that I would give different reasons at different times of life--though all would be equally valid.
I suppose most important is that I believe the doctrines of the church are true and feel good about church teachings. I also deeply appreciate the relationships which are formed within the church and the sense of community which membership in the church brings. I like that the church doesn't claim a to have a monopoly on the truth, but gives me the liberty to think as I please and allows me to adopt truth from wherever it is I find it. Also, I believe that everyone can receive personal revelation, and have found that I am able to receive more significant and frequent inspiration while living in accordance with the teachings of modern prophets and apostles.
How I live my faith
Essentially, I live my faith by trying to live well and be kind to others.
More formally, I teach basic gospel principles to a group of men in my church each month and worship weekly in church.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
