Hi, I'm Scott
I'm a husband, father, friend, convert and I am a Mormon but prefer to be called LDS.
About Me
I am a convert with my family to the LDS church. We were baptized September 19, 2009 and confirmed September 20, 2009. A year later my wife and I received our endowments on September 24, 2010, then sealed together and to our children September 25, 2010. I am a father of 4 children 2 girls and 2 boys. I have been with my wife since 1991 as a senior in high school. Her and my kids are my life. She is my high school sweetheart and I love her more and more every day.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised Methodist. I worked with the junior and senior high youth groups. We had a change of ministers at the church and the new minister was more interested in money instead of faith. My family and I tried several churches if I liked it they did not if they liked it I did not. Final I contacted my friend to check out the LDS church and the rest is history. All I ask is if you are looking for a new church, read the Book of Mormon and open your mind and heart and ask heavenly father if this is true, the answer may not come right away but if you are really looking for an answer he will give it to you and you will know this is the true church of the world and Jesus Christ lives and will return.
The seed was planted with me when I was a child around 1986 when I had met the Jarvis family. Jan has been part of my life off and on since. She sat next to me during my family sealing like she was my own mother. It hope it does not take you as long as it took me to see the truth but when you are ready just pray and Heavenly Father will tell you.
Personal Stories
What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?
My values in life itself and my family. We were a close family before but now with the Book of Mormon, family home evening, and other teaching within the LDS church my family is closer then ever.
How has the Holy Ghost helped you?
I have received several promptings from the Holy Ghost. My brother-in-law had been arrested and in jail for a month, I had not spoken to my sister in over 2 years. One day during my morning prayer I was prompted by the Holy Ghost to call my sister. I never had a need or an urge to call her. So later that day I received the prompting again. I had deleted her out of my cell phone but the number came to me when I called she broke down into tears telling me he had been arrested and was facing prison time. They owned a business and he could not work so no money was coming in. I got hold of my Bishop and then the Bishop where she lived and was able to get her and my niece and 2 nephews food and some help from the church. Had I not followed the prompting from the Holy Ghost I am not sure how things would have played out for my sister.
How I live my faith
I help friends and family as much as I can. I try to be a good home teacher and visit my families monthly and try to talk to them weekly. As a family we attend church every Sunday sometimes it can be hard to stay all 3 hours. We are getting better as a family praying and reading scriptures together daily as well as on our own. We are also getting better with family home evening every Monday night singing together, studying specific scripture and just talking about life.
