Hi, I'm Aubrey
I am convert, a wife, a daughter, a sister and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a convert to the church. I am married to a southern boy, have two wonderful parents, one brother, and a puppy named Chubbs. I graduated from college with a major in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management and a minor in International Studies. I speak french... sort of, and had the opportunity to study in France for a semester. I love to study history, especially when it has to do with England or France. I was a gymnast up until college and still have a passion for the sport. I LOVE the Olympics, mountains, snow, autumn, music, and painting, among other things :) But most of all I love the church and all the wonderful things it has brought into my life.
Why I am a Mormon
I am mormon because I have a wonderful friend who introduced me to the church. My dad is agnostic and my mom was raised Catholic. I believed in God, but didn't had a very structured religious upbringing. My parents wanted it to be our choice, and so they never really pushed us in any direction.
I was baptized the summer after my freshman year of college. As do many, I went through numerous challenges and changes during my first year of school. I felt very much lost and confused about who I wanted to be. I went to lunch with one of my good friends from high school, and after a long discussion about life she suggested that I meet with the missionaries. I think I knew then that I was going to join the church, and after my first lesson I agreed to be baptized. I was met with a lot of unexpected opposition by family members, but I stood firm in my decision and about three weeks later I was baptized and confirmed.
I cannot lie and say it was all easy. Along with the criticism from family, I had my own struggles. Learning to adapt ones life to what the gospel teaches can be difficult, but it is so unbelievably worth it. It has been the best decision I have ever made and am eternally grateful to my friend who showed me how much better life could be with the gospel.
