Daniel: dreams, visions, hell, demons, devil, satan, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Daniel

and I am definitely a Mormon!

About Me

I love to read!

My favorite spices is Cayenne & Garlic and I'm interested in herbology and natural medicine.

Though I don't care for hunting much, I enjoy the outdoors and have pretty much been to every national or statepark west of Mississippi in my lifetime.

Never really cared much for cars and as long as it gets me from point A to B I'm fine!

I like gemstones and have a decent collection of which I have no idea what I'll ever do with!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in a loving family with parents who loved me. However, that is not why I am a member.

When I was 17 I spiraled into an abyss of physical and spiritual depression. I left the Church and faith of my birth and cut religion out of my life. Spiritually, I was dead.

For years I trudged through a dismal landscape devoid of light. Hunger and curiosity leading me forward, I wandered down and started to travel strange paths.

As a consequence, I unintentionally opened myself to a world best left unseen and unheard. Contrary to my desire, I started learning things and having experiences that began to rend my soul as if tearing it apart. I was lost. Lost in a night so dark and dismal that I knew not where to turn or how to escape.

Then, a ray of light rent the darkness of my night.

I testify that there is no other name, or power under earth or heaven, by which mankind can be redeemed and sanctified. No other way we can be saved. Only Him. My joy is this, I know that Jesus Christ lives.

I know that my Redeemer lives. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lives!
I know because he rescued me. He reached down into my darkness and lead me back into the light.
I know because through repentance I watched as the power of his Atonement shattered the shackles of my sins and addictions to dust.
I know because I've felt the spirit of God burn in my heart bearing witness.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because God saw fit in his mercy to rescue me from the chains of Hell. Because the fullness of the Gospel really was restored through Joseph Smith who really was a true prophet called of God. Because this really is the Lord's Church and he really does lead it still. Because the Book of Mormon is all that it claims to be. True.

Why am I a Mormon?

Because of Love.

Personal Stories

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

I have received and still continue to receive many answers to my prayers.

Guidance on important choices.
Answers to expressed questions.
Confirmations of truth.
Witnesses of personal worth and love.
Comfort and peace when distraught and in need of succor.
Miracles of healing.

God hear's our prayers. We have been commanded to pray in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and promised that if we do so, he will hear our prayers.

He listens and while he does not always answer when we want, how we want, or the way we want, he does answer. When we have enough faith, and the desire is in accordance with his will, miracles happen.

God loves us and wants to guide us and help us navigate this mortal life and all it's trials and difficulties.

There is power in prayer.

How I live my faith

How?

Through Temple attendance, church attendance, constant daily prayer and scripture study. Through earnestly desiring to live the commandments of God and striving always to keep them. By using what God has blessed me with to bless others. These as well as others are the primary acts by which my faith both lives and breaths.

I am a bearer of the Aaronic & Melchizidek Priesthood. As a Priest I serve in the capacity of blessing the sacrament. In the capacity of a 'Home Teacher', I have a responsibility over a few families in my ward which I regularly visit to ensure their well being while also providing an uplifting thought and message. And now as an Elder, I have even further opportunities to give service and bless the lives of others.

I live my faith by applying the teachings of Jesus Christ into my daily life. Listening and learning from prophets both of long ago and modern day, I search to see how it applies to me and how I can change to become a better man.

Though slower than I sometimes like, I can feel myself changing, becoming more like He who marked the way. Having been changed by the power of the Atonement once, I seek to complete and make permanent that change of heart.

My faith lives and breathes. It's alive. I'll continue to nurture it until that which started as a tiny mustard seed has grown into a huge and beautiful tree of life everlasting.

I know where I came from, I know why I'm here, I know who I am, I know where I'm going, and I know what it will take to get there.

So can you. Will you ask? I did. He answered. He'll answer you too.
