Tabitha : Mormon.

Hi, I'm Tabitha

I am from the rural South but am a city girl at heart. I am a new mother at age 38. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I guess I'll start with a brief history: I grew up in the South - Georgia to be exact. I moved to Utah in my mid-twenties after I served a mission for the Church. But after 10 years out West I needed to return to where I felt most at home: the East. It was a good choice because a short time later I met my soon-to-be husband and earlier this year our son was born.

While my life may not have turned out as I planned in my youth (married by 25, four kids by 35, etc...) I couldn't imagine it any other way. I have a career that I enjoy, I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful little son, and I live in the one of the greatest cities on earth.

And of course, I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS (Latter-Day Saint) family but this doesn't mean that I relied on the faith of my family. I went through my own trials and struggles. It was during my early adulthood that I decided to learn for myself if the Church and its beliefs were true. After much soul searching, thought, and prayer, I can honestly say that I know that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ and I am grateful for that knowledge.

Personal Stories

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

I am where I am today because of my knowledge of where I'll be in the future. Sounds cliche, perhaps, but it's true. I believe that life is eternal. I also believe that if we make correct decisions (and repent for bad ones) and live righteously, we will be able to be with our families after this life ends. That belief brings me great peace, especially during difficult times or trials in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to practice what I preach. I work hard to be honest and to be kind to my "fellow men." It isn't always easy given the differences in the world today, but I know it is what the Savior taught and it is what I need to follow. I go to Church every Sunday and I accept callings, or requests to serve, as they are asked of me. I pray regularly, I read my scriptures daily, and I try to live my life in such a way that I will not have regrets. For I believe that we are responsible for our actions and we must answer for them some day. I try to remember that in all of my dealings with others and with myself.
