Hi, I'm Thad
I'm a Husband, a Dad, a Hockey Fan, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I think I'm a jack of trades and master of none really, but that's the way I like it. I love to sing, play instruments and laugh. I also love to do manly things like work in the garage and restore cars and motorcycles. I love to watch sports and being Canadian my number one sport is hockey and my number one team is the Calgary Flames.
Why I am a Mormon
Because it helps me to be the best person I can be. I know the Gospel helps me to be loving and kind to my wife and daughters and helps me to serve others in the community. It's a good guide for me in my life and more importantly it helps me follow Christ. I recognize this is the restored Gospel and has the authority Christ had when he was on the earth. This element makes it stand out from all other faiths and provides great comfort.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
I served a mission to Tennessee as a young 19 year old back in 1988. I went with a sincere desire to introduce what I knew and lived to others. I had no other motive. I believe then and now that knowing about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most wonderful and positive life changing event that can happen to anyone. We are a great big family on earth and this perspective helps me see others as my brothers and sisters. It was purely out of love and concern for others that sent my on my mission.
How I live my faith
I try to be clean cut and healthy in my appearance. I live a health code called the Word of Wisdom where I stay away from things that are bad for my body and eat things that are good. More importantly however, I try to remember to be a little better today than I was yesterday, and do what Christ would do in every tough moment of decision.
